I love Easter!  It's a time when God invites us to reflect on the power of the cross. For many of us, the cross represents the heart of our faith — a powerful symbol of love, sacrifice.

It’s more than just a historical event. It’s where we discover hope.

The Cross: A Symbol of Unmatched Love

The first thing that stands out about the cross is the incredible love it represents. Jesus willingly faced betrayal, pain, and death because He loved us that much. In John 15:13, He says, "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends." It’s easy to get lost in the noise of life, but the cross is a powerful reminder of the depth of God's love for each of us — no matter where we've been or what we've done.

This love isn’t passive or distant. It’s active. It’s real. And it’s life-changing. The cross tells us that we are loved beyond measure. It’s this love that gives us the strength to carry on when we feel weak, and the courage to face challenges because we know we’re not alone.

The Cross: Defeating Sin and Death, Bringing Hope

The cross didn’t just change history; it changed everything for us. When Jesus died, He took the weight of sin and death upon Himself. It was on the cross that He overcame everything that once separated us from God. In Colossians 2:14-15, Paul writes, "He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross."

That’s the heart of the cross — forgiveness, freedom, and victory. Jesus didn’t just die for the sins of the past; He gave us hope for the future. Through His death, the power of sin and death was broken.

Easter isn’t just about celebrating the resurrection; it’s about celebrating the hope we now have in Jesus because of what He did on the cross.
